Your Responsibilities
As a Junior Engineer on our AI Process Optimization (AIPO) team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of software applications that leverage AI technologies to meet organizational needs, working alongside the Team Lead and senior team members to deliver reliable solutions that empower colleagues across DocuWare.

- You will contribute to the development of software applications ranging from workflow automations to general-use platforms that leverage AI technologies to enhance productivity across DocuWare.
- You will integrate existing AI products and custom applications, supporting their evolution into stable, long-term systems through clean code, documentation, and testing practices.
- You will collaborate with the Team Lead, stakeholders, and those with product ownership responsibilities to ensure solutions meet organizational and user needs.
- You will support the team by clearly articulating the capabilities and limitations of implemented solutions, and develop the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- You will continuously learn about emerging AI tools and technologies, applying relevant knowledge to contribute to the improvement of our solutions
What you need to succeed
- You have some professional experience or demonstrated contribution in software engineering, such as through internships, academic projects with real-world application, or early career roles.
- You have foundational proficiency in a core language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or SQL, and familiarity with frameworks and tools such as Flask, Docker, and Git.
- You are familiar with APIs and databases (SQL Server, MongoDB); basic awareness of cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and deployment concepts is a plus.
- You have knowledge of AI/ML fundamentals and exposure to model APIs (e.g., OpenAI) and prompt design for large language models.
- You understand the importance of data quality for AI systems and can apply basic preprocessing steps when needed.
- You are a strong communicator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset. You are willing to engage with colleagues and stakeholders, contribute insights, and translate technical realities into practical understanding.
- You think creatively and outside the box, challenge the status quo, and are passionate about delivering solutions that maximize value and improve the end-user experience.
- You thrive in a dynamic environment, are open to feedback, and see change as an opportunity to learn and contribute.
What we can offer
- The pay range is between $72,000 and $76,000 depending on experience.
- This position is Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
- DocuWare funds $2,000/$4,000 annually towards single/family HDHP deductible
