Your Responsibilities
We're looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer which plays a critical role in supporting DocuWare’s sales efforts by providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle. Partnering with Authorized DocuWare Partners (ADPs) and the Sales team, this role ensures that proposed solutions meet customer needs through consultative discovery, tailored demonstrations, and effective communication of DocuWare's value proposition. The Pre-Sales Engineer serves as a trusted advisor, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical capabilities, while also enabling channel partners through training, enablement sessions, and joint customer engagements. This role is key to accelerating sales velocity, increasing partner success, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and solution fit.

For this position, you will need to live in the Continental USA.
  • Partner with Sales and Channel Teams to support Authorized DocuWare Partners (ADPs) in technical pre-sales activities, including discovery, demo configuration, solution design, and proposal support.
  • Conduct tailored software demonstrations and workshops for ADPs and prospective customers to showcase the value and functionality of the DocuWare platform.
  • Collaborate with sales staff and professional services teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions that align with customer workflows and digital transformation goals.
  • Assist in quoting professional services engagements with the professional services team.
  • Deliver technical enablement sessions and training workshops for ADPs to strengthen their ability to position, demonstrate, and implement DocuWare solutions independently.
  • Lead technical discovery and qualification efforts, including needs assessments, gap analyses, RFP/RFI response and scoping of integrations or custom configurations.
  • Prepare and support proof-of-concept (POC) and pilot environments to validate proposed solutions and accelerate deal closure.
  • Maintain and document pre-sales activities within CRM systems, including customer requirements, configurations, technical objections, and engagement outcomes.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge of the DocuWare solution portfolio and adjacent technologies to ensure best-in-class consultation and support.
What you need to succeed
  • Ability to travel two weeks a year to our Beacon, NY office for Quarterly Briefings.
  • Ability to travel one week a year to our DoucWorld event (locations vary). 
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred; advanced degrees (MBA or MS) are a plus, especially with a focus on systems integration or enterprise software.
  • Technical Experience (3–5 years): Prior roles in IT, systems engineering, or software development with hands-on experience in document management systems, including workflow automation, metadata management, and cloud deployment.
  • Pre-Sales or Solution Consulting Experience (2–5 years): Proven success partnering with sales teams to design and present technical solutions, conduct discovery sessions, and respond to RFPs in B2B or enterprise software environments.
  • Relevant Certifications: Strong preference for certifications such as Microsoft 365, CompTIA, or specific ECM/DMS training; exposure to pre-sales frameworks like (e.g. SPIN, MEDDIC, Challenger) is a bonus.
  • Consistently meeting or exceeding quotas.
  • Superb presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills with ability to competently demonstrate software functionality.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and to find individual solutions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time. 
What we can offer
  • $110,000 to $130,000 base pay (based on experience). No cap on compensation howerver OTE is expected range of $160,000 to $200,000.
