In this role, you plan, design, assemble, and oversee the systems that run an organization’s technological development, build and deployment infrastructure. You provide ongoing support and advice to ensure the infrastructure continues to support fluctuating demands. Working in collaboration with IT, operations, and other teams, you develop strategies and action plans for implementing upgrades and integrations.
In your position, you will design and implement infrastructure solutions.

This includes:

• Investigate and implement technologies to have stable deployment pipelines, which includes build and testing, and help to implement them at the scale of the engineering department.
• Designing infrastructure that can scale horizontally (adding more servers) or vertically (upgrading existing servers) to accommodate growing software demands.
• Managing our source control system (Azure DevOps).
• Integrating security practices into the infrastructure, including secure coding, access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborating with development teams, system administrators, and stakeholders to align infrastructure decisions with business needs.
• Ensuring a monitoring of development infrastructure performance, resource utilization, and bottlenecks.
• Evangelizing automation over manual work.

• You have strong expertise in building or managing software development infrastructure.
• You can design scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions, balancing trade-offs between performance, cost, and maintainability.
• You are proficient in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), understanding cloud services, deployment models, and cost optimization strategies.
• You are familiar with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Azure Bicep for automating infrastructure provisioning.
• You have experience with Git.
• You are aware of security best practices, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
• The following areas are beneficial:

  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, LAN/WAN, and VPN
  • Container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes
